This was definitely my first time eating Bosnian food feeling curious about what to choose and eat for the first time that I had gotten the cevapi with a cold glass bottle of Bosnian soda and for dessert I tried the tulumba. Overall, it was really good, savory and delicious. The service there was also attentive, pleasant and friendly. I couldn't agree more. “ This Bosnian restaurant is tucked away in a discrete/less busy area of LIC but shouldn't be overlooked. The food is absolutely great albeit some of it needs a bit more salt/flavor. I came with a group of friends and to start we got the chevaps and bureks. The chevaps are truly delicious and don't need any condiments with it either. The bureks were quite good as well- we got the cheese ones and the spinach one as well. We wanted the meat ones but unfortunately they were sold out. The cheese ones were lacking a bit of flavor but with the ajvar it was a lot better. The spinach one was tasty with or without the dip. The stuffed cabbage, however, was the standout. I added a bit more salt to it which made it a lot better IMHO. All in all, this is a great staple and I will be back, especially after I see they have frozen goodies as well for home! ”

“ Ordered: Spinach Burek (~$7) Sarma (~$19): stuffed cabbage Kombinacija (~$21): House Combo of Cevapi & Sudzukice (sausage) with diced onions and ajvar (roasted red pepper sauce) Aya's take: First time trying Bosnian food, and I am obsessed. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. As a first timer, the House Combo aka Kombinacija was a perfect try. The Cevapi is one of the best bites I've had in 2024. It's savory, oily, and a bit smoky. The blend of spices they use is absolutely fantastic because these were so good on their own but I did eat some with the warm fresh pita bread, diced onions, and ajvar (roasted red pepper sauce). If you get one thing here, let it be the Cevapi! The Sudzukice were longer and thinner sausages with slightly different flavor but still quite delicious. Not as satisfying as the Cevapi but very well-done. The Sarma aka Stuffed Cabbage was super comforting and loaded with soft rice and ground meat. It was a bit pricy for what it is, in my opinion. The Spinach Burek was just okay to me; it didn't taste fresh but for ~$7, you get 2 massive pieces - pretty great value. All in all, this spot was a great try and the Cevapi quite literally changed my tastebuds forever. ”

“ Great value and delicious food! I came with a group of friends and we got one each of the bureks, combo plate, mixed meat plate for 1, and some desserts. We were also given pitas. As expected the cevapi was hot, juicy, and delicious, and i was pleased that all the other meats were tender too. The owners told us that the mixed meat plate includes organs (heart, kidney, etc.). I was initially skeptical, but I'm glad I gave it a try, since it ended up being my favorite. The burek was less my thing, since I prefer my food hot, and these were room temp pastries. The filo dough had also gotten a bit stale. My friends seems to enjoy them though. We were completely full by the end and gave leftovers to take home. In terms of ambience, it's a no frills place, but was perfectly comfortable for us to hang out at for a few hours. Service was quick. Overall, a great meal! ”

“ A hidden gem offering Bosnian and Slavic comfort food. On a cold November day, the goulash in this family restaurant hit the spot. I had passed this place many times yet never ventured inside. I had been planning to go to another restaurant on Steinway Street, but at the last minute, I changed my mind. I was not sure what to expect. “ I told you i will move on, and i did from Djerdan! This place is smaller, one of the oldest Bosnian restaurants in the neighborhood. I discovered Djerdan before this place. I prefered Djerdan because of location to this place all those years. Now it is SARAJEVO time!! “ Still my go-to place for Balkan food. Service is always quick and food is usually ready within 10 minutes. After coming to this restaurant a few times, I would recommend the following items the most: - Cevapi (similar to kebab) - This dish is their specialty. Nice smoky flavor. Hard not to devour the whole thing. Love the bread served with this as well. - Pljeskavica (The Balkan take on a burger) - Meat is perfectly spiced. The burger is also huge! I would probably split this with someone. - Yogurt drink - Not sure if it's homemade, but it always tastes fresh. Pairing this with your meal is a must! Would pass on the burek. They're decent, but not the best. They need to work on adding more filling and the cheese itself is a bit bland. Oh and if you're craving dessert, they have a fridge with walnut baklava, tulumba, and a couple of other goodies.
